My Life In Calgary

In April, 1996, Roxy, Barney & I decided to throw caution "to the wind", and say goodbye to all our family and friends in Nova Scotia to start a new life. We moved to Calgary, Alberta. It was in Calgary poor Barney passed away and Haimish was adopted. Roxy & Haimish are patients at the Westmount Animal Clinic. I have been a client of the clinic since I have been living in Calgary. Dr Golbeck and the staff at the clinic are A-1. I can highly recommend the clinic.

Cinema 1 at Westhillls

When I arrived it Calgary, I got a job almost immediately running the show at "Market Mall". This was in May of 96. I also worked at some of the Cineplex Odeon Theatres in Calgary on the Spareboard. I transfered into IATSE Local 302 in August of 96. I took the second bid on the Westhills Cinemas and had the job until I took my buyout which ended a 20 year career running film for the Public. There were some good times at the Westhills, but I knew the end was near and it was time for a change. Leaving Famous Players and starting something new was one of the best thngs I did. I don't miss running Projectors at all. About the only way I would go back to it, is if Empire Theatres was here in the city and offered me a job.

Calgary, my new home

Calgary is a great City to live in. It is a busy city, but a really friendly city. The Weather. can go from one extreme to the other in a matter of minutes. Calgary is home to the World Famous Calgary Stampede. I have finished my CTC Program at Bow Valley College. I was taking the Computer Technician Program. My Program finished with my 5 week Practicum at Zip Air Inc. where I made alot of friends and learned quite a bit about the Airline Industry. While I am waiting to get my IT job, I am back working full-time with a great group of people at the Petro Canada at the Westhills. We are now the Number 1 store in all of Canada for Unattended Car washes and for sales.
